About Dr. Lane

Dr. Lane is a fellowship-trained specialist in the areas of corneal refractive surgery (LASIK), diseases and infections of the cornea, and ocular trauma. His surgical expertise is in corneal transplantation, anterior segment reconstruction, and small-incision sutureless cataract surgery.

Dr. Lane graduated from Tufts University and received his M.D. from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. After an Internship at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center, he completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Lane was then selected to complete a Fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Lane is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the NYU School of Medicine. He is actively involved in teaching resident ophthalmologists at North Shore University Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center. Dr. Lane has presented his clinical research at numerous ophthalmology conferences around the country, and he recently contributed to a textbook on cornea and anterior segment ocular surgery. He also lectures frequently in the community on topics such as cataracts, glaucoma, and laser surgery.

Dr. Lane is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, New York State Ophthalmologic Society and the Medical Society of the State of New York. In 2001, Dr. Lane was a recipient of the American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award. Dr. Lane also received the 2003 Teacher of the Year Award from the North Shore University Hospital ophthalmology department. Dr. Lane looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experience with you.
